Moyo

Moyo is a volunteering platform designed for individuals who want an easy, accessible way to start doing good, track their personal impact, and build community with like-minded people along the way. The project stems from research revealing that although many young adults have volunteered, very few manage to do it consistently. A striking 83% of surveyed users find traditional volunteering platforms confusing and hard to use, while 94% feel held back by a lack of time or an unclear entry process. Users expressed a desire for a quick, fun experience that helps them meet others while fulfilling a purpose. To solve this, Moyo grounds its design in two core principles: simplicity and togetherness. Built around the persona "Sophie Social," the user flow guides users seamlessly from signing up and setting location preferences to picking specific focus areas. The platform replaces high-friction entry processes with high-fidelity UI features, including one-tap project joins, automated event reminders, and dedicated impact tracking screens that give users a tangible view of their contributions. Visual branding uses clean typography—Poppins and Georgia—and an approachable color palette to maintain an inviting tone. Ultimately, Moyo transforms volunteering from a complicated task into a simple, social, and rewarding routine. It effectively eliminates structural barriers so users can focus on making a positive impact and building lasting connections.
