Tentify — Beer, Bench & Booking
Tentify is a full-stack Oktoberfest tent reservation web application built with Next.js 13, MongoDB Atlas, Mongoose, Styled Components, SWR, and NextAuth.js with GitHub OAuth authentication. The app allows users to browse all major Oktoberfest tents, filter by category and availability, and view detailed information including capacity, brewery, pricing, and guest reviews. Authenticated users can reserve a table by selecting a date, time slot, and number of guests, and receive a booking confirmation with a unique QR code. Key features include a smart booking form that automatically disables past time slots, a My Bookings page with Upcoming and Past tabs, the ability to cancel bookings, and a waitlist system for fully booked tents. Users can also leave star ratings and written reviews for tents they have visited, with duplicate and ownership validation built into the API layer. The app follows a mobile-first design approach with a dark Oktoberfest theme, accessible components with aria-labels throughout, and a clean bottom navigation. The codebase follows strict conventions — no inline styles, component-based architecture, and RESTful API routes with proper authentication and authorization checks. Tentify was developed as a solo capstone project at neue fische's Web Development & AI bootcamp, following an Agile workflow with GitHub Project Board, feature branches, pull requests, and coach code reviews throughout the development process.

The goal of Tentify was to design and build a production-ready full-stack web application from scratch within a bootcamp environment. The project aimed to demonstrate real-world development skills including database modelling, RESTful API design, authentication and authorization, and component-based frontend architecture. Beyond technical implementation, the project focused on code quality — following strict conventions, writing accessible components, and working through an Agile workflow with feature branches, pull requests, and coach reviews. Tentify represents the complete journey from wireframes and user stories to a live, deployed application with a polished mobile-first user experience.
