happynachbar

happynachbar is a full-stack neighborhood platform that helps people discover local activities, organize events, and connect with others nearby. The platform combines event organization, community features, and real-time communication in a single application, making it easier for neighbors to meet, exchange ideas, and participate in local activities.

Users can browse activities created by other members and quickly find relevant events using search, category, and postal code filters. Each activity includes key information such as a description, location, date, time, category, and images. Registered users can create and manage their own activities, join events organized by others, and see who else is participating.

Personal profiles with display names, biographies, and profile pictures make interactions more personal and help users get to know the people in their neighborhood. Communication is integrated directly into the platform through private messaging and dedicated group chats for activity participants. Real-time updates allow participants to discuss details, coordinate plans, and stay connected without relying on external messaging services.

The application also includes authentication, email verification, password recovery, image uploads, profile management, multilingual support for German and English, and light and dark themes. An administration area provides tools for managing users and activities, issuing warnings, banning accounts, and moderating content.

Built with Next.js, React, TypeScript, NestJS, PostgreSQL, Prisma, and Socket.IO, happynachbar combines frontend development, backend services, database management, authentication, and real-time communication in one complete application. Developed as a final Full-Stack Software Development project, happynachbar shows how modern web technologies can be used to build a complete, user-focused application.
