Curriculum
In the first week, participants are introduced to the bootcamp and receive a comprehensive overview of the fundamentals of product management. They learn about central tools such as Confluence and Notion, which are essential for organization and documentation in product management. Furthermore, they develop a deep understanding of the role of the Product Manager in Product-Led Organizations and learn the first steps for developing a clear product vision. This week lays the foundation for the subsequent modules by establishing a common base and familiarizing participants with the necessary tools and mindsets for product development.
In Week 2, participants focus on developing a solid product strategy. They learn how to establish clear and actionable product principles that serve as a guide for the entire product development process. Through an intensive Design Thinking workshop, they also learn a proven method for finding creative solutions to complex problems and ensuring the product is aligned with user needs. Additionally, participants receive a thorough introduction to UX Design and the principles of User-Centered Design. This week is crucial for laying the strategic groundwork and ensuring that the product offers clear added value.
In Week 3, participants dive deep into the Discovery process and User Research to lay the foundation for successful product development. They learn the essential importance of UX design decisions, which aim to develop products based on real user behavior. Participants acquire methods for effective User Research, with a special focus on avoiding bias and structured planning. They also learn how to derive concrete actions from the gathered user data. This week is crucial for developing a comprehensive understanding of user needs.
In Week 4, participants deepen their skills in User Experience and begin designing concrete user interactions. They learn how to create meaningful User Personas and conceptualize User Flows and User Journeys to optimize navigation through the product. Another focus is on User Story Mapping, a central method for structuring product development. Additionally, participants are trained in Stakeholder Management to successfully coordinate and moderate the different interests in the product environment.
In Week 5, participants learn the integration of Artificial Intelligence into the product routine. They acquire fundamental knowledge about AI technologies and master Prompt Design for Generative AI to increase their efficiency as product managers. A significant part of the week is dedicated to responsible AI use and ethics. Participants also get to know specific AI tools, design their own AI-based experiences (AI Experiences), and understand the principles of Platform Thinking in the context of AI ecosystems. The goal is to design AI solutions that are human and user-centric.
In Week 6, participants focus intensively on conducting and analyzing usability tests. They learn how to effectively create wireframes and prototypes to use them in structured tests and evaluate the product's user-friendliness early on. The focus is on applying these tests to gather valuable feedback that contributes to the iterative improvement of the product. Participants are also trained in interpreting the results and translating them into concrete action steps for technical further development.
Week 7 focuses on developing leadership and communication skills. Participants learn about the concept of Psychological Safety and further develop their presentation skills. They are trained to moderate efficient meetings, make progress measurable, and establish a constructive feedback culture within the team. Another focus is on conflict management and problem-solving competence, as well as the ability to make informed decisions in a team environment.
In the eighth week, participants deepen their skills in planning and organizing product development. A central focus is on creating strategic roadmaps and prioritizing features. Participants learn how to manage User Stories and Product Requirements Documents (PRDs) and proactively manage risks. They also receive an intensive introduction to Jira to track and control development work and effort estimates. This ensures clear communication of development plans to all stakeholders.
In Week 9, participants are comprehensively introduced to agile methods such as Scrum, Kanban and Lean. They learn how these flexible and iterative methods are applied to make the development process more efficient. In an interactive Scrum simulation workshop, they experience the practical processes of agile work. Participants also learn to critically compare agile methods with traditional approaches.
Week 10 focuses on effective collaboration with the development team. Participants acquire technical fundamentals and an understanding of software architecture to communicate at eye level with developers. They learn about the ceremonies in Scrum and the concepts of Definition of Ready (DoR) and Definition of Done (DoD) to set clear quality standards. Topics such as Testing, Quality Assurance (UAT), and the final Release Decision conclude the week, ensuring that the work results meet the highest technical standards.
In Week 11, participants focus on sound methods for success measurement and data analysis. They receive a detailed introduction to defining and measuring KPIs, as well as to agile reporting methods. Participants get to know modern Data Analytics techniques and receive an introduction to tools such as Adobe & Google Analytics and A/B Testing. This week equips them with the ability to make data-driven decisions and precisely control product success.
In Week 12, participants prepare for a successful market launch. They learn how to develop Go-to-Market and Launch strategies and determine pricing and monetization models. A focus is on Product Storytelling to create compelling narratives for the product. Furthermore, they deal with Post-Launch activities and the continuous tracking of KPIs to secure long-term market success and be able to react quickly to changes.
In Week 13, participants deepen their knowledge in advanced areas of product management. They delve deeper into complex organizational design and problem-solving methods. A special focus is on Servant Leadership, Influencing, and People Management, as well as dealing with Legacy Products and Technical Debt reduction (Tech Debt). Additionally, regulatory requirements and compliance topics are covered. The week is complemented by expert knowledge on the advanced use of Jira workflows and Confluence processes.
In Week 14, participants specifically prepare for their professional future. They identify various PM specializations and develop their personal branding as a product manager. Participants sharpen their negotiation skills and receive a guide for the first 90 days in a new role. They also learn strategies to stay informed in the fast-paced product world and successfully shape their career in the long term.
In the final two weeks, participants apply all the methods acquired during the course to successfully finalize their personal Capstone Project. This phase serves to consolidate the entire learning process and demonstrate the learned principles in a real-world scenario. Participants prepare the presentation of their work results and reflect on the entire development process. The course concludes with a final presentation and a feedback round, where a marketable product concept is presented.
