Curriculum
This is what you learn in our Product Management Bootcamp
In the first week, participants are introduced to the bootcamp and receive a comprehensive overview of the fundamentals of product management. They learn about central tools such as Confluence and Notion, which are essential for organization and documentation in product management. Furthermore, they develop a deep understanding of the role of the Product Manager in Product-Led Organizations. This week lays the foundation for the subsequent modules by establishing a common base and familiarizing participants with the necessary tools and mindsets for product development.
In Week 2, participants transition from basics to high-level strategic planning. They learn to craft a compelling Product Vision and an actionable Product Strategy to guide development. This week also introduces the technical frontier, covering AI Fundamentals and the art of Prompt Design for generative AI. Finally, students begin the discovery phase by exploring User-Centered Design and the essentials of UX Design within the product lifecycle.
In Week 3, participants dive deep into User Research to lay the foundation for successful product development. Participants acquire methods for effective User Research, with a special focus on avoiding bias and structured planning. They also learn how to derive concrete actions from the gathered user data. This week is crucial for developing a comprehensive understanding of user needs.
In Week 4, participants focus intensively on conducting and analyzing usability tests. They learn how to effectively create user flows, wireframes and prototypes to use them in structured tests and evaluate the product's user-friendliness early on. The focus is on applying these tests to gather valuable feedback that contributes to the iterative improvement of the product. Participants are also trained in interpreting the results and translating them into concrete action steps for technical further development.
Week 5 focuses on the soft skills critical for product success. Participants dive into Stakeholder Management and the importance of creating Psychological Safety within teams. The curriculum covers essential communication skills, including presentation techniques, meeting moderation and fostering a healthy feedback culture. Additionally, the week addresses the practical and moral implications of modern technology through AI Tools for Product Managers and a deep dive into Responsible AI & Ethics.
In Week 6, participants deepen their skills in planning and organizing product development. A central focus is on creating strategic roadmaps and prioritizing features. Participants learn how to manage User Stories and Product Requirements Documents (PRDs). They also receive an intensive introduction to Jira to track and control development work and effort estimates. This ensures clear communication of development plans to all stakeholders. The topic of Scrum Ceremonies finally builds the bridge towards the subsequent Agile week.
In Week 7, participants are comprehensively introduced to agile methods such as Scrum, Kanban and Lean. They learn how these flexible and iterative methods are applied to make the development process more efficient. In an interactive Scrum simulation workshop, they experience the practical processes of agile work. Participants also learn to critically compare agile methods with traditional approaches.
Week 8 bridges the gap between management and engineering. Participants gain a fundamental understanding of Software Architecture and Team Dynamics, including the definition of "Ready" (DoR) and "Done" (DoD). A heavy emphasis is placed on data: students learn to define and measure OKRs and KPIs, explore Agile Reporting and receive an introduction to industry-standard tools like Adobe and Google Analytics to drive data-informed decisions.
In Week 9, participants learn to translate vague user needs into concrete requirements using advanced frameworks. The centerpiece is a two-day AI-Supported Design Thinking workshop. Students will master visual mapping techniques to align team understanding, including the creation of User Personas, User Journey Mapping and User Story Mapping.
Week 10 prepares Product Managers for the unpredictable nature of the market. Participants develop the skills to manage obstacles, mitigate risks and measure progress under pressure. Technical decision-making is reinforced through an introduction to A/B Testing, while the broader "art of making decisions" is explored to help students confidently navigate release decisions and complex communication challenges.
In Week 11, participants prepare for a successful market launch. They learn how to develop Go-to-Market and Launch strategies and determine pricing and monetization models. A focus is on Product Storytelling to create compelling narratives for the product. Furthermore, they deal with Post-Launch activities and the continuous tracking of KPIs to secure long-term market success and be able to react quickly to changes.
In Week 12, participants deepen their knowledge in advanced areas of product management. They delve deeper into complex organizational design and problem-solving methods. A special focus is on Servant Leadership, Influencing, and People Management. Additionally, regulatory requirements and compliance topics are covered. The week is complemented by expert knowledge on the advanced use of Jira workflows and Confluence processes.
Week 13 focuses on the complexities of maintaining and evolving sophisticated products. Participants explore the realities of Quality Assurance (QA), User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and strategies for managing Legacy Products and Technical Debt. The week also shifts toward the future of interaction, teaching Ecosystem and Platform Thinking specifically for AI and the unique challenges of Designing AI Experiences.
In Week 14, participants specifically prepare for their professional future. They identify various PM specializations and develop their personal branding as a product manager. Participants sharpen their negotiation skills and receive a guide for the first 90 days in a new role. They also learn strategies to stay informed in the fast-paced product world and successfully shape their career in the long term.
In the final two weeks, participants apply all the methods acquired during the course to successfully finalize their personal Capstone Project. This phase serves to consolidate the entire learning process and demonstrate the learned principles in a real-world scenario. Participants prepare the presentation of their work results and reflect on the entire development process. The course concludes with a final presentation and a feedback round, where a marketable product concept is presented.
